"This book is perfect for both parents and educators. The 'heart' approach to living with a special child is very nicely spelled out to make the interaction between parent and child a time of joy and togetherness. Perhaps the most important message is to accept each child into our life as the gift they are...and not to have the idea of 'the perfect child' as our expectation. This is the handbook that all parents and teachers need to read..and read again."

I have journeyed many years on a magnificent path to wholeness with Patricia Leat – a fellow wholistic practitioner and a powerful healer in her own right. In this down-to-earth, practical, and inspiring book, Patricia and co-author Marissa Joven share their insightful real-world guidance on living our lives with greater grace, ease, and unconditional love especially within a family with a special needs child.

This beautifully illustrated little book, is a gift for every family who has a child with special needs and abilities. Written in the spirit of open hearted love and acceptance, the authors demonstrate the sweetness (and relief!) of not just trying to “Fix” your child from the outside, but to come back to the Home within your own heart. The true “fix” comes from within not without. They encourage parents to get their own support, and teach them to find ways to have fun and play with their child. This in turn nurtures those precious bonds and gifts that parents and children share with each other when parents are able to be truly present.

Loved your book, so helpful in many ways for all households. Page seven last two sentences especially resonated with me regarding halting fixing and being present for loving.

I really enjoyed reading Home is Where the Healing Begins. It is a unique topic due to the fact that so many books out there today offer guidance in spiritual growth on an individual basis, rarely do you find a book that centers around the heart of the home. Home to all of us is our safe haven our sanctuary and Patricia expressed the importance in healing this space beautifully. I would highly recommend this book to all parents as this book helps to set the tone in how to support families in creating a peaceful environment. In just thinking about how guests, family and friends who visit a healing home it would allow for changes within others as it sets the tone for all. I highly recommend Home is Where the Healing Begins.
